Nitish Kumar Cabinet 10.0: Complete list of MLAs who took oath as Bihar ministers
JDU chief Nitish Kumar on Thursday (November 20) was sworn in as the chief minister of Bihar for a record 10th time at the Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Governor Arif Mohammed Khan administered the oath of office and secrecy to him. Kumar took the oath on the Constitution of India. Along with him, 26 other MLAs took oath as Bihar ministers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president JP Nadda, and several other top leaders of the NDA attended the swearing-in ceremony. The event was attended by the chief ministers of several NDA ruled states.
A total of 27 leaders, including Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Samrat Choudhary, and Vijay Kumar Sinha, took oath at Patna's Gandhi Maidan. Among the main NDA constituents, the BJP and JD(U) got 14 and 8 ministerial berths, respectively, excluding the Chief Minister. Additionally, one berth each was allotted to the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) and the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) [HAM(S)], while two positions were given to Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas).
At least three newly inducted ministers are members of the state legislative council. They include JD(U) national general secretary Ashok Choudhary, a close and trusted aide of the Chief Minister, state BJP president Dilip Jaiswal, and Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) chief Santosh Kumar Suman.
Shreyasi Singh, an award-winning shooter who won from Jamui for a second consecutive term, has entered the cabinet for the first time. Rama Nishad, the wife of former Muzaffarpur MP Ajay Nishad—who joined the BJP during the peak of the election campaign and secured a victory from Aurai—has also been inducted. Additionally, veteran JD(U) leader and nine-term MLA Bijendra Prasad Yadav has returned to the cabinet.
